With the Season 8 of Game of Thrones, a worldwide cultural phenomenon, at our doorstep, I decided to take a break from writing about arthouse cinema and directors and write about the Season 7 of the show during the next week’s time. I believe that this TV show in particular, has a lot to tell about our present condition, but also, beside enjoyment, give us material to ponder upon when it comes to international relations and the world we are living in now.
In other words, I will not renounce my humble scholarly ambitions, I will try to present the Season 7 of the show in a manner which will remind us of the events which happened in the last year’s season. I envision this as a reminder of the things that happened, so we can enjoy the things to come even more fully. This is my modest ambition, and in case you didn’t find the time or will to rewatch Season 7, this series of articles might be a good guide and a prelude to the final Season 8, which airs on April 14.
I will finish this introductory article with Daenerys’ rhetorical question: Shall we begin?
